Expression difference between osteoarthritic chondrocytes and mesenchymal stem cells during chondrogenic differentiation
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 8 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

The recruitment of mesenchymal stem cells in order to reconstruct damaged cartilage of osteoarthritis joints is a challenging tissue engineering task. Vision towards this goal is blurred by a lack of knowledge about the underlying differences between chondrocytes and MSC during the chondrogenic cultivation process. The aim of this study was to shed light on the differences between chondrocytes and MSC occurring during chondral differentiation through tissue engineering.

Publication Title

Expression pattern differences between osteoarthritic chondrocytes and mesenchymal stem cells during chondrogenic differentiation.

Dynamic response of EGF stimulation in lung cancer cells [EGF]
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 7 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 2.0 ST Array (hugene20st)

Description

The analysis of microarray time series promises a deeper insight into the dynamics of the cellular response following stimulation. A common observation in this type of data is that some genes respond with quick, transient dynamics, while other genes change their expression slowly over time. The existing methods for the detection of significant expression dynamics often fail when the expression dynamics show a large heterogeneity, and often cannot cope with irregular and sparse measurements.

The innate and adaptive immune response to BCG stimulation in splenocytes taken from C57BL/6 mice
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 16 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge IconIllumina MouseRef-8 v2.0 expression beadchip

Description

The aim of this experiment was to investigate differential gene expression in splenocytes stimulated with BCG from nave and BCG vaccinated mice. The differences between nave and BCG vaccinated mice might indicate the mechanisms by which BCG vaccination confers an enhanced ability of splenocytes from BCG vaccinated mice to inhibit growth of BCG in splenocyte cultures as compared with splenocytes from naive animals.

Gene expression changes in subclones of a Burkitt lymphoma cell line with different patterns of EBV latent infection
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 12 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2)

Description

In this study we have investigated the gene expression profiles of three different types of subclone all generated by single cell cloning of the same parental EBV positive Burkitt lymphoma cell line Awia-BL. These included EBV negative clones which have lost the virus episome, EBV positive clones with a conventional Latency I form of infection and EBV positive clones with an atypical Wp-restricted form of infection.

Publication Title

Different patterns of Epstein-Barr virus latency in endemic Burkitt lymphoma (BL) lead to distinct variants within the BL-associated gene expression signature.

  • sample-icon 9 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Exon 1.0 ST Array [transcript (gene) version (huex10st)

Description

Diabetes and obesity are widespread diseases with signifciant socioeconomic implications. We used three different types of human adipose tissue (epigastric, visceral, and subcutaneous) in order to determine differences in global gene expression between these adipose depots in severely obese patients.

Publication Title
