Human liver gene expression data from subjects of varying ages
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 133 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Gene 1.1 ST Array (hugene11st)

Description

N=134 human liver samples from morbidly obese patients and healthy controls were analysed by array-based mRNA expression profiling. Liver messenger RNA expression datasets from the German patients were generated on the HuGene 1.1 ST gene array The purpose of the study was to correlate these gene expression data with body mass index and with an epigenetic measure of age acceleration based on DNA methylation data.

Ewing samples and EWS-FLI-1 inhibited Ewing cell lines
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 39 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133A Array (hgu133a)

Description

The cellular origin of Ewing tumor (ET), a tumor of bone or soft tissues characterized by specific fusions between EWS and ETS genes, is highly debated. Through gene expression analysis comparing ETs with a variety of normal tissues, we show that the profiles of different EWS-FLI1-silenced Ewing cell lines converge toward that of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). Moreover, upon EWS-FLI1 silencing, two different Ewing cell lines can differentiate along the adipogenic lineage when incubated in appropriate differentiation cocktails. In addition, Ewing cells can also differentiate along the osteogenic lineage upon long-term inhibition of EWS-FLI1. These in silico and experimental data strongly suggest that the inhibition of EWS-FLI1 may allow Ewing cells to recover the phenotype of their MSC progenitor.

Mesenchymal stem cell features of Ewing tumors.

Description

Characterization of 68 cell lines derived from human sarcoma and 5 normal counterpart cells, including drug sensitivity testing, gene expression profiling and microRNA expression profiling have been completed. Data and tools for searching these data will be made publicly available through the NCI Developmental Therapeutics Program. The raw data (.cel files ) are provided through the GEO website. Sarcoma represents a variety of cancers at arise from cells of mesenchymal origin and have seen limited treatment advances in the last decade. Drug sensitivity data coupled with the transcription and microRNA profiles of a cohort of sarcoma cell lines may help define novel treatment paradigms.

hTERT effects in CD8 T Lymphocytes from two healthy donors
  • organism-icon Homo sapiens
  • sample-icon 20 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon Affymetrix Human Genome U133 Plus 2.0 Array (hgu133plus2), Affymetrix Human Genome U133A Array (hgu133a)

Description

Expression in GFP vs. GFP/hTERT transduced CD8 T Lymphocytes from Healty Donors (HD) 1 and 2 at early and late passages. Using CD8+ T lymphocyte clones over-expressing telomerase we investigated the molecular mechanisms that regulate T cell proliferation. Transduction and subcloning procedures were performed on CD8 + naive T-cell clones isolated from two different healthy individuals aged between 30 to 35 years (HD1 and HD2). T-cell cloneswere transduced to express hTERT/GFP or GFP alone.
